Interests outside of school/research:
For fun, I love to spend time with family and friends, shop, go to the movies, and travel when I can.
How did you hear about the program? Why did you apply?
I heard about the ACCESS program from my advisor who recommended me for the program. I applied because I was interested in learning more about obtaining a graduate degree in chemical engineering and the steps that it would take to do it.
Favorite part of the weekend and why?
My favorite part about the weekend was the networking aspect and having the opportunity to meet so many other talented students from across the country. I also really enjoyed the tour of Boston.
Do you think you benefitted from the program – did it help you in any way? Why or why not?
I greatly benefited from this program. Through this program, all of my questions were answered about graduate school and much more. I actually got to see first-hand what it takes to be a graduate student and was able to really understand what being a graduate student is all about.
Prior to attending ACCESS, did you have plans to apply for graduate school? How did ACCESS impact your decision?
Prior to attending ACCESS, I was not sure if I would apply to graduate school. The ACCESS program gave me a clearer understanding of what I should expect when going to graduate school for chemical engineering.
Are you planning on applying to graduate school now? If so, where?
I do plan on obtaining a graduate degree; however, it will not be a chemical engineering degree. I plan on obtaining either a Master’s in business administration or some type of management degree.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10 years?
In 5 years, I see myself just completing my MBA or management degree and being in some sort of management position with a company.
